Contact & Tips

Send a tip, a press release or a correction

ComeNewsSports is editorially independent. Tips, corrections and press enquiries are routed via the editor and the relevant desk.

How to reach us

The four routes you can use

Each route is reviewed by the editor. We aim to acknowledge every tip within 48 hours, though publication decisions are made on the story, not the deadline.

Reporters in the press zone after a match. Tips

Editorial tips

Send a transfer, an injury, a behind-the-scenes story or a sourced claim. We treat on-record sourcing as the default. Anonymous tips are read but not acted on without independent corroboration.

Players walking through the mixed zone after a match. Corrections

Corrections

Found an error in a score, a name, an attribution or a transfer detail? Send the article URL and the correct information. Material corrections are dated and logged on our corrections page.

An editorial desk preparing matchday coverage. Press

Press & communications

Press releases, accreditation queries and interview requests. The press desk routes requests to the relevant beat reporter and aims to acknowledge within 48 hours.

Careers & pitches

Open roles are listed on this page when available. Speculative applications from reporters with on-record sourcing experience are welcomed.

How to format a tip

A short, plain-language summary gets us further than a long document. The desk reads every tip.

Send the headline first

Open with one sentence stating the claim in plain English. The editor routes on the headline. Background and source detail follow once we open the conversation.

Tell us what is on the record

Tell us whether the source is on the record, on background, or anonymous, and what the constraints are. Anonymous tips without independent corroboration are not published.

Include supporting evidence where you can

Documents, screenshots, recordings, dates and venue detail help. The desk is familiar with source protection and will agree a transfer method with you before any material is shared.

Choose a channel that fits your risk profile

Email is fine for most tips. For sensitive material, contact the editor directly to arrange a secure transfer. We do not request cryptocurrency, gift cards or unusual payment methods under any circumstances.

Contact FAQ

Short answers to the questions our inbox gets most often.

Will my tip be published without my consent?

No. We confirm attribution with you before publication. Where attribution is impossible, we explain why and the editor signs off on the publication.

Do you pay for tips?

We do not run a paid-tips programme. We pay freelance reporters for commissioned work; tips and unsolicited material are not compensated.

What happens to a tip you don't run?

Tips we cannot verify, corroborate or route to a beat reporter are logged for future reference. We do not act on anonymous tips without independent corroboration.

How do I escalate a complaint?

Write to the editor. The editor reads every complaint. Where a complaint is upheld, the article is corrected or amended with a dated note and the change is logged on the corrections page.

Why this matters

Why ComeNewsSports routes every tip, correction and press release through the editor

A short note on the routing logic behind the contact routes and what the desk does with the messages it receives.

Every route on the contact page lands at the editor first. The editor reads the message, decides which beat reporter it belongs to, and routes accordingly. This avoids the alternative — a tip landing at the wrong desk and being ignored because it does not match the beat — and gives the editor a complete log of what the desk has been asked to look at and what the desk has decided to do with each item.

For sensitive material, the editor can agree a secure transfer method before any document or recording is shared. The desk does not request cryptocurrency, gift cards, or unusual payment methods under any circumstances. Where a tip is itself a story, the editor agrees the attribution with the source before publication and the resulting piece follows the editorial policy's standard sourcing rules.

Tips the desk cannot verify, corroborate, or route to a beat reporter are logged for future reference. Anonymous tips without independent corroboration are not acted on. Where a tip is run, the article credits the source under the attribution agreed at the time of submission; where a tip is not run, the desk does not explain why in detail, because doing so can compromise the source.
